Hey All-

Happy 4th to my fellow country folk. To those astute readers, this is also anniversary time for Darkfin - technically, it's officially 5 years on the web, 6-7 years in development, and an eternity of great joy and deep depression.

A lot has been happening/not happening this year and I would totally love to share every last detail with you but I am legally unable to do so right now. And, believe me, you WILL know all about it. Look for DARKFIN: Fishing for Further on this website sometime next year.

In the meantime, I have been doing some reflecting and the key question I keep coming back to is...

WHAT IS DF?

Darkfin is NOT:

A space alien that crashed into the sea
A little mermaid
The bastard daughter of Zeus
A lost Atlantian
A mutated dolphin species hiding at the bottom of the ocean
A spinoff of a greater male superhero

Darkfin IS herself. And she is pure science (science fiction if you want to be pissy about it). Erika embraced/has been embraced by science and, for better or worse, Darkfin is the result. This is what separates her character from all of the other "Aqua Babes" out there. DF/Erika is much more than a simple playmate in a wet t-shirt and that is what I had set out to do from second one. I hope I (and Barron) have succeeded!
