Noticed this idea at Dispatches from the Culture Wars and I love nerdy questions.

1. Total number of books I've owned.
Lots and lots. Probably 1000-2000.

2. Last book I bought.
Science of Good and Evil by Michael Shermer

3. Last book I read.
Sucker's Progress: An Informal History of Gambling in America by Herbert Asbury

4. Five books that mean a lot to me.
Neuromancer by William Gibson. Really opened my eyes to the power and intrusiveness of technology.
Bridge of Birds by Barry Hughart. Just the sweetest story ever. One I can always go back to if I need to reawaken my childlike wonder.
The History of God & The Battle for God by Karen Armstrong. Deepened and nuanced my thinking on religion.
Feynman Lectures on Physics by Richard Feynman. I needed to pick one physics/math book and this is about the most widely applicable one. Also "Surely You're Joking Mr. Feynman" really got me into the mentality of being a physicist.
Fads and Fallacies in the Name of Science by Martin Gardner. Could also be Randi's Flim-Flaw. Either way it got me really thinking about the philosophy and meaning of science and led me to read a lot more on the topic(s).

B and I are enjoying our little summer break but will be back in a few months with more DF (and possibly some teaser treats around the DF anniversary time).
